很久以前, 我曾經有個夢想, 就是當一個調酒師 (bartender). 但是, 因為種種原因, 一直沒有去朝這方向邁進.
日前, 終於下定決心, 要開始本人自己的迷你吧台!
所以, 就上網找了一些調酒需要的道具 (調酒杯, 量杯, 開瓶器, 等). 發現 Crate and Barrel 有一些剛好符合我需要的工具. 雖然附近唯一的一家 C&B 在開車一小時遠的 Somerset Collection, 但身為牡羊座的人, 想做一件事情怎麼會被這小小的距離而擊倒呢?所以吃完午餐就直衝去買這些東西 (當然, 有先事前打電話確定都有貨).
工具到手之後, 接下來需要的就是基本酒啦. 早上上網查了一下, 找到了這個 Bartending 101 的網站. 其中第三堂課就是告訴你要設立一個小酒吧需要哪些基本酒, 配合的飲料, 佐料, 以及裝飾品. 以下是一些它所建議中價位的基本酒 (粗體字的是我有買得)
Components for a Basic Bar:
Liquor:
Buy one 750 ml bottle of each of the following, unless otherwise noted. A 750 ml bottle allows for 25 (one ounce) drinks, or 17 (one and a half) ounce drinks. For wine, assume one 750 ml bottle of wine will give you five glasses.To get you started, I’ve included some respectable brands that are largely middle priced and widely available. Do buy what you like- you don’t have to buy the top of the line, but cheap liquor tastes cheap and is not worth the savings.
- Bourbon……………………………….Maker’s Mark
- Tennessee Whiskey……………………Jack Daniels
- Canadian or American Whiskey….Canadian Club
- Brandy………………………………..Raynal
- Gin…………………………………..Beefeater’s or Tanqueray
- Rum…………………………………..Bacardi Gold
- Scotch, blended…………………….Johnny Walker
- Tequila……………………………….Sauza Blanco
- Vodka, non-flavored……………….Stolichnaya,aka Stoli (我買得是 Absolut)
- Cordials – have four on hand:
- One orange based, Contreau or Triple Sec
- One anise based, such as Sambuco or Pernod
- Crème de menthe
- Another favorite, such as Amaretto di Saronno, Grand Marnier, Kahlua
- Beer: Buy by the case to keep the cost down, and keep at least 4 bottles refrigerated. If you have absolutely no idea of a brand, try Sam Adams.
- Red wine, (2-4 bottles)…………Shiraz from Australia
- White wine, (2-4 bottles)……….Pinot Grigio from Italy
- Sherry, Amontillado……………Dry Sack
- Vermouth, Dry…………………Martini & Rossi
- Vermouth, Sweet……………….Noilly Prat
Mixers:
One (six pack) of each rather than liters, unless noted, as soda loses its fizz once opened:
- Sparkling water, aka Club Soda
- Cola
- Ginger Ale
- Orange Juice (1 quart)
- Tomato Juice (1 quart)
- Cranberry Juice (1 quart)
- Tonic Water, aka Quinine Water
Condiments:
- Lemon Juice (always freshly squeezed – can squeeze and freeze in advance)
- Lime Juice (always freshly squeezed – can squeeze and freeze in advance)
- Angostura Bitters (see a description in the Luxury Bar section)
- Pepper
- Salt, coarse
- Sugar, superfine
- Tabasco
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Horseradish
Garnishes:
- Olives, small green stuffed with pimento
- Lemon wedges
- Lime wedges
- Maraschino cherries
另外, 還買了直接喝就很好喝的 Bailey’s Irish Cream (愛爾蘭甜酒). 而 Tequila 則決定用老母從墨西哥帶回來的進口貨 (不知道名字…).

雖然這個清單上還是有很多東西沒有買, 但是慢慢來. 之後又看到了幾個介紹一些常用的基本酒的網站: The Twelve Bottle Bar 和 Essentials to Stock in Your Home Bar, 以後慢慢再增加庫存!
有了這些基本酒之後, 接下來就是找調酒的食譜. 講到食譜, 網路上隨便找就超級多的. 但是, 基於我有的料不多, 也不知道這些材料可以條出哪些酒. 好加在有一個網站, 雖然它有的雞尾酒食譜不多, 但可以讓你依照你有的材料一步一步找.
第一杯調出來的是一杯叫做 Moscow Mule (莫斯科騾?!). 為甚麼呢? 沒有為甚麼, 純粹是它只需要 Vodka, Ginger Ale, 跟 Lime, 而這三樣我都有…:P
自己覺得, 還蠻好喝的啦~ 雖然, 沒有用該用的細長杯子, 感覺有點不對, 但喝起來還蠻順口的. 學會調酒之後, 以後如果有機會, 下班之後說不定還可以去酒吧打工咧~
